Marching Boots

Marching Boots

Year: 2007
Technique: 500 paraffin boots lined up in columns. Every boot is 12.5 cm height.

A micro-dimensioned march. A very military-like ensemble with invisible high-heeled bodies made by paraffin. The same embroidered motives, the same shape point mainly not to the personal identity’s importance but to the power of multiplied entity.
It may be an army’s force but an easily destroyable one. Delicate shapes are speaking of a more domestic environment like burnt-out candles or kitschy ceramic objects.
A genderless gesture. The ambiguity prevails: female masculinity vs. male femininity.
